Autograph letter signed : England, to Ralph Allen : manuscript, 1736, September 8.

Autograph letter signed from Pope to Allen conveying a manuscript of "A prayer to God," later published as "Universal prayer" in 1738. Also includes an engraved portrait of Pope, a second manuscript copy of the "Prayer" in a different hand from the 19th century, an autograph letter signed by Allen dated 1758 and a small engraved portrait of Allen.
